1991-1993
Retail. Began working at the pre-opening stage of Fresh Fields, a new Health Food store in the Washington, DC area. Fresh Fields underwent rapid expansion, opening 12 stores in 2 ó years (phenomenal growth for a food store), stretching from the beginning constellation of four stores in the Washington, DC area, South to Virginia, North to Pennsylvania and West to Chicago, IL. Executive position; traveling to each location, overseeing 70 Associates. Head of Cheese/Pasta Dept. Developed an active, dedicated, departmental, demonstration program; started a "Cheese School" to secure our Associates' expertise and departmental, as well as, store camaraderie. Created and headed our own, extensive, cookbook department, offering 400 titles. Established a program of guest, cookbook authors' active demonstrations.
1988-1991
Initiated and spear-headed an active Homeowner' s Association in an evolving residential community in Scottsdale, AZ, part of which included taking our developer to court, winning most issues. Our community established close bonds, ultimately becoming known for its spirit and success, which also helped serve as a strong marketing point. Today, 20 years later, the community is still going strong.

An involved, at-home Mom. Raised 5 diverse, active children, who are now formally educated and beyond the nest.

Born. Academic year resided in Baltimore, MD. Summers spent on the family farm, "Rock Cliff," just outside of Charlottesville, Virginia.
