UNTITLED SERIES (2006)
The series has been shot in Arizona, where I do a lot of my field work. Gray skies, here, are unusual. The gray is quieting; sometimes mysterious; serves as an unusual Arizonan, but also, as an effective backdrop.
UNTITLED is my newest body of work. UNTITLED is a continuation of earlier work, shooting through the pool. In becoming more abstract, the mood is quieter, more mysterious. I have exposed my deepest, inner place. That is a peculiar irony of life. The less shown, the more given. Private thoughts are often so fleeting, so hard to uncover, to hold onto and to express. The same is true of the creative moment. A thought, a direction, hangs. It's here. And then, as quickly as it came, it dissipates; clarity of line is lost; something larger, remains.
UNTITLED is my newest body of work. By becoming more abstract in my expression, I have become more specific. That is a peculiar irony of life. If one can just step aside, not overrule, nor get in the way of one's deeper, inner thoughts, there is a connectedness to what has been, to where one's journey lies.
Time and thoughts are free flowing. And, elusive, though framed by circumstance. Much like life.
